he Lenovo ThinkPad L480 has the versatility, power, and portability to keep up and to make jobs easier. It is built to be the perfect business partner for professionals. The ThinkPad L series is considered the budget series of ThinkPads used in corporate environments. It provides a notable step-up in reliability and durability over common retail laptops for dependable long-term ownership. The L-series offers slightly better displays than the E-series. The ThinkPad L480 comes with Kaby Lake Refresh processors and is the direct successor to the ThinkPad L470. The graphics card in the L480 is the Intel UHD 620. There is the option of a discrete graphics card, the AMD Radeon 530. The ThinkPad L470 also had a discrete graphics card from AMD available, the AMD R5-M430. The AMD Radeon 530 is based on Polaris and can come with 2 GB of either DDR3 or GDDR5 memory. There are two memory slots in the ThinkPad L480, allowing up to two 16GB DDR4-SODIMM modules at 2400 MHz. The L480 still uses 2.5″ drives. The standard version will come with a hard drive, but the ThinkPad L480 is also upgradable with a PCIe SSD, making it an interesting budget choice. The display choices are either an HD TN panel or a FHD IPS panel which can be either touch or non-touch.
